On a daily basis children enjoy free play, throughout the three inter-linking play rooms.
These include: painting, gluing, water and sand play, construction, role play, music and movement, stories, ICT, drawing, writing and reading, story sacks, number games, puzzles, playdough and a variety of Montessori equipment.
Learning is fun!
At Mary Poppins Nursery we respond to the interests of our children, who take a lead role in their own learning. Sticker charts, mind maps and responsive planning allows for parents, staff and children to plan and evaluate different activities.
In our secure, spacious garden the children have the freedom to develop their gross motor skills: running, jumping, balancing, climbing, riding bikes and scooters, throwing, catching and kicking balls.
The garden has a bountiful supply of fruit trees and a vegetable patch. Children are actively involved in growing and looking after their garden and we love finding creepy crawlies!

The Nature Nurture Programme is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning.’The Nature Nurture philosophy is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences.
The Nature Nurture Programme has demonstrated success with children of all ages who visit the same local woodlands on a regular basis and who, through play, have the opportunity to learn about the natural environment, how to handle risks and most importantly to use their own initiative to solve problems and co-operate with others. Children play, learn boundaries of behaviour; both physical and social, establish and grow in confidence, self-esteem and become self motivated.
All activities marked with * are included within the basic provision of Mary Poppins Nursery with no additional charges.
